The Biggest Loser, Dumbbell, Tight jeans....what pop out of your mind when mentioned about this? No..it is not about how much KFC, Mc D treats you would loose or any voluptuous models promoting some weight loss programme. It is all happening in my house which is famous for its tasty delights among relatives and friends (don't want to list down the foods as yet). Yes, I'm witnessing this infront of my nose.
To start with, let me refresh my minds some few month backs when it all started. Our dinning room is strategically located where we have all the necessities within our reach apart from kitchen utensils. There we have got our TV together with the Astro Set. Occasionally we would watch Channel 703, 303 where we could satisfy our inner hunger by watching all the delightful foods being cooked in Asian Food Channel and laugh our hearts out watching 2 Days and 1 Night. Well if you combine both you will get an everlasting desire for food in front of your TV set. And there when the dining room become handy and we get our hands to anything that is edible. Thing might get worse during Ramadhan when you are not able to sample my moms cooking. Some samples of mom's cooking
Ayam Masak Merah
Chap Cai that goes well with Nasi Ayam
All this changed when my sister, turned to Hallmark Channel .... The biggest Loser shows in Channel . At first we taught we were just watching another as usual over the hype shows promoting how superior the reality show should be. For those who do not know what the show is all about, it is a reality show about how a group of people were going through a life changing experience of weight lost regime through painful repeating exercise and as usual some strategizing. After a few seasons watching winners after winners and witnessing they shrinking their size by half, suddenly it hit the back of my sister's head. As if she received a "divine" call , she asked herself a question. Why don.t we do it here in the house. We have a rusty set of dumbells, cycling machine which almost broken into half, and above it all, mak has started to slow down cooking those "addictive" cooking. Yes, why don't we do this.
As enthusiastic as the participants in the Biggest Loser, my sister started by doing the thing that I could not imagined which was.... through diet. Her routine diet took a swing from having breakfast with Nasi Lemak and a late dinner to stopping rice intake and an apple a day. Wow, she sure have those guts of having to pass mom's cooking. Focus she did for a few weeks and she claimed to see the result. I have to take seriously of what she had said as i have not only seen her shrinking, she had couple of time almost passed out when she took her diet to the extreme.
She stepped up her regime by exercising after that. At night she would hop on to the bicycle, and pedal her way for 30 minutes daily. For 1 month or so she continued her fitness regime and basically i just watching her reducing her size week after week. Looking at her it reminded me of myself few years back when i had almost the same ambition and thrust where i had the same physical regime but minus the diet la.
